I've been testing the Edge Spinning reels prototypes for over a year now on the 'Decisive' in Guatemala. That's a lot of fish and we really put them through their paces. We have been using them for teasing sailfish while fly-fishing and also casting baits back to weary fish that will not tease in. Loaded with 20lb test the smooth drag handles anything from a 50lb dorado to a 120lb sailfish and gives anglers who have hesitations with conventional reels the added security of knowing there will be no chance of a backlash on the bite. All round they are an outstanding choice for a successful day on the water. http://www.guatbilladv.com

I fished the new GC4000 for both Snook and Tarpon and the reel performed flawlessly while casting my favorite jig! I landed one Snook that morning and was able to feel the flawless performance of the reel. All expectations were met with my new GC4000.

The GS8000 is the perfect South Florida reel for many species. It has a smooth drag, it is light weight and comes with an extra spool. Good reel and good value...try one, I recommend it!

My angler was able to land a nice sail not even realizing what the fish was until he jumped 400 yards away on a GC4000 spooled with 30 lb. Braid.  We were anchored and there was a strong current between 6 ad 8 knots. A cruiser went by a few hundred yards away and we noticed a Sailfish jumping. At that point we realized the fish was on our reel. The drag kept pulling and we were almost out of line. We weren't drifting so we couldn't chase the fish and being that we were anchored the only way to land the fish was to start reeling. The GC4000 maintained a smooth drag and the line capacity was ultimate in landing the sailfish. Very nice reel.
